It is estimated that three quarters of borderline sufferers are women. And studies suggest that as many as 9 percent of those diagnosed with BPD will die as a result of suicide.
I don't think of suicide as a choice. I think it is the outcome of an illness like any other. Terminal sadness, terminal anxiety, terminal fear... the walking, or at least waking dead. How can suicide be a choice to die, when the sufferer is dead already?
